Why It Matters

A good script is only the beginning, how you deliver it makes the biggest impact. The goal isn’t Hollywood-quality production; it’s warmth, clarity, and presence. Recording with simple tools (like your laptop webcam, phone, or LMS recorder) is enough to connect with students in meaningful ways. 

By the end of this module, you’ll be able to:

• Set up your recording environment to ensure clear audio, lighting, and visuals.

• Record authentic, engaging videos using readily available tools such as smartphones, webcams, or built-in LMS recorders.

• Apply techniques for camera presence and delivery to build stronger student connection.

• Evaluate your recordings for clarity, tone, and engagement.

Key Tips for Recording

• Keep it simple: use the device you already have (phone, laptop, or LMS recorder).

• Check your setting: quiet space, good lighting (natural light in front of you works best).

• Mind your delivery: smile, keep eye contact with the camera, and speak naturally.

• Don’t chase perfection: authenticity beats polish every time.

Practice Activity

Record Your First Video

• Use your draft script from Module 1.

• Record a short 30–60 second video using your webcam or phone.

• Upload your video to the Padlet board below.

• Watch one or two of your peers’ videos and leave a quick supportive comment.
