Here is a list of new things we learned this season:
We learned how to create images and logos using an AI generator suggested by one of our experts, Greg Kaye, who is a technical director .
We learned how to use broadcast messages in Spike Prime to make 2 robot actions go at once (moving attachments when going forwards or backwards).
We learned how to code in Python for our Raspberry Pi game board
We learned how to make stop motion videos
We learned that budget can impact model designs
Zander and Sullivan learned how to use a rack and pinion design to make a vertical forklift. They found videos on YouTube that helped them build a basic design and then modified it to attach to our robot.
Two of our experienced team members, Aylin and Elizabeth, traveled to MSOE with Coach Jen to teach middle school kids how to code missions with EV3 robots!
We kicked off the season with teams Alpha Geek, Power Voltage, and Technobots and helped the other teams make sure they built their missions correctly.
We helped raise money for Elmbrook Robotics and Automation with our sister teams! We even donated an artistic bowling pin to be auctioned off!
We have talked with and advertised bowling to our schools, at regionals, and at the Elmbrook Ladies' night!
We made 60 lunches for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
After state, we made Valentines for the kids at Children's hospital!
To get to know each other, we made a mural as a team. Every team member got a 4x4 canvas, and painted a self portrait.
We celebrated team holidays like Diwali and Hanukkah with our teammates.
In our first all team meeting, Zander & Sullivan taught new team members how the "Follow the line" code worked.
We participated in the 4th of July parade this year! We walked with BEAST, many FTC and FLL Explore teams, and Alpha Geek and Rookie Team Power Voltage!
We worked together on our team project and coding work all season!
And now, after state, we are working as a team to fundraise, improve our robot reliability, and take our bowling project on the road!
Every team member had fun decorating their hats with Lego dots. We were creative and opted for different colors and shapes to make our hats stand out.
For one core values activity we played charades. We had to act out things that happened last season.
We bowled in celebration of winning Sectionals!!!
We made gingerbread men together!!!
