Make a difference in the Health Studies community by joining a committee! Help strengthen communication between students and faculty, share student perspectives, gain valuable leadership experience, and build skills that look great on resumes and future professional applications.
BUHSSA is committed to ensuring student voices are represented within the Faculty of Health Studies. Many faculty and departmental committees include student representative positions that are open to Health Studies students. Student representatives play an important role in advocating for their peers, providing feedback during discussions, and strengthening communication between students and faculty.
Student representatives help bring forward student perspectives on academic and departmental matters.
Representatives are expected to:
Attend committee meetings
Share student feedback and concerns
Participate in discussions and decision-making processes
Report relevant updates back to BUHSSA and the student body
Most committees meet quarterly or monthly, making these positions a manageable and rewarding way to get involved.
Becoming a student representative is a great opportunity to:
Advocate for the quality of student education and experiences
Gain leadership and professional experience
Build connections with faculty, staff, and fellow students
Strengthen communication and teamwork skills
Enhance your resume and future professional applications
Student representatives may have the opportunity to participate in committees such as:
