Bugra Ozel is a Professor of Accounting at the Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Wharton School’s Harris Family Alternative Investments Program. He previously served on the faculty at UCLA Anderson School of Management and was the Harry W. Reynolds and Judith and William Bollinger Visiting Associate Professor at Wharton (2019–2021). He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from Columbia Business School.
Research. Dr. Ozel’s research examines corporate compliance and disclosure, with publications in leading journals including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Financial Economics, The Accounting Review, and Review of Accounting Studies. His work has received multiple awards, such as the American Accounting Association’s 2022 FARS Best Paper Award, and has been featured widely in outlets like the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg, Time, and Harvard Business Review.
