ARTS On The Wire is a student publication produced by the Media Communication students of the Arts Academy. During the Covid-19 pandemic, this online forum was created in an effort to connect us back to our ARTS community. We wanted to offer this site as a way to stay connected, in the absence of classrooms, the gallery, studios, stages, classrooms, and hallways. This is a place where we can stay engaged and creatively connected. This Place belongs to to the Arts Academy family and is meant to inspire all of us to collectively reimagine how we create and share; which is at the heart of our ARTS community.
All students and staff of the Arts Academy are invited to contribute artistic work - written, video, music, podcasts, photography, visual art pieces. We have Zoom meetings three times a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, to review what content will be published. Our goal is to create a website that shares the interesting stories and work that is produced by our Emerging Artist students and staff. To learn more about the publication or to contribute, please contact us via ArtsAcademyAV@gmail.com OR MMURRAY3@BUFFALOSCHOOLS.ORG.

About the Buffalo Arts Academy
The dual mission of the Arts Academy is to provide each student with professional preparation in a pre-conservatory arts education program and college preparatory academic education.
The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts was founded as part of the desegregation plan in 1977. The goal was simple: provide an exciting college preparatory program for students in the arts and academics that will attract all races and ethnicities. Since our beginnings at 333 Clinton Street, the school has grown in numbers and in depth. In September 2007, we moved to our new state of the art facility, location at 450 Masten Avenue.Opened in September of 1977, the Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School. At that time, the Arts Academy was located on the site of the former Clinton Junior High School, which had been renovated with state-of-the-art studios, performance and exhibition spaces, to accommodate the specialized program offerings of: dance, theatre, music, visual art and television & radio.
