Why Biophysics?

Biophysicists have contributed immensely to understanding many biological problems including challenging diseases like cancer and AIDS and helped develop better solutions to facing them. Most recently biophysics research has helped design vaccines for the COVID19 pandemic.

Biophysics is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary field, currently listed as one of the high-demand fields in the United States according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Biophysicists and Biochemists are listed as the field with the highest location quotient (an indicator of the high demand) in Massachusetts with an annual mean salary of $134 090 as of November 2022.  (Below is the screenshot from US Bureau of Labor Statistics taken November 2022)
