On December 17, 2024, we had the honor of hosting a significant occasion— the Joint Commissioning and Pinning Ceremony for our 4th Year BSOA and Theology students, alongside a Year-end Thanksgiving and Victory Party. This special event, held in the SPAC Gymnasium from 4:00 PM onwards, was themed "Gratitude: A Celebration of Achievements and Triumphs."

Both the BSOA and AB Theo departments united in celebrating the remarkable achievements while expressing heartfelt gratitude for the blessings and unwavering dedication that have guided us to this momentous milestone. Thank you to all who contributed to making this event a success!

CES AND BSOA DEPARTMENT LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM

The Community Extension Services (CES) Department, under the leadership of Sir Bernard Cordita, CES Director, and the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration Department of South Philippine Adventist College , headed by Ma'am Amor A. Zapico, Program Head, is set to hold the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Women's Association of Barangay Lanuro, Hagonoy, Davao Del Sur, on December 5, 2024.

The event attended by key community leaders, including Barangay Captain Hon. Wenceslao Apa and Mrs. Teresa Ighot, President of the Women's Association, along with its members to have a small livelihood program. This partnership aims to promote community development by providing educational and livelihood opportunities, with a focus on empowering the women of Brgy. Lanuro through various extension programs and services.

South Philippine Adventist College successfully hosted the 2nd SPAC Multidisciplinary Research Congress, Kalimuhagan 2024, at the SPAC Gymnasium.

With the theme, “Collaborative Synergies: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Innovative Research,” the event was spearheaded by the SPAC Research director, Dr. Ranzolin Bayeta, together with Mrs. Mailyn Cabanlit and the BSOA Event Management Class.

The congress highlighted groundbreaking research, fostered collaboration among scholars, and emphasized the importance of innovation in multidisciplinary studies. Through keynote speeches, research presentations, and interactive sessions, participants gained insights that inspire future academic pursuits and advancements.

The BSOA department held a separate Sabbath School program on this day, October 12, 2024, in the BSOA Classroom, uniting students to celebrate their faith, deepen their understanding, build community ties, and support each other's spiritual growth.

This gathering resonates with Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV): "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another."

The BSOA Officers of A.Y. 2024-2025 attended a leadership convention at Savanna Foodhaus, Cogon, Davao del Sur, spearheaded by the College Student Government of South Philippine Adventist College with the theme "LEAD LIKE JESUS: A Service-Driven Leadership".

This highlights the principles that have inspired outstanding leaders to achieve significant impact and provides an opportunity to learn how to lead with compassion, humility, and purpose. It was also done through lectures and activities from the different speakers that helped department leaders become more efficient and good leaders not just today but in the future.

Here are the highlights of BSOA students who participated in the first Sabbath Retreat of the school year with the theme: "When we are with God" The event was made possible on September 7, 2024, at BSOA Classroom, East Residence Hall, Student Lounge, and Benches in front of Elementary.

The sermon focuses on the book Psalm 23, A Psalm of David.

"1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a]I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
