The South Philippine Adventist College (SPAC) held its First Research Congress last November 13, 2023, at the SPAC Gymnasium. The event, themed “Innovations and Trends: Adapting to a Changing Landscape,” was attended by students, teachers, and faculty members.
The program started at 7:30 in the morning and was attended by 548 attendees in both college students and senior high students and 77 presenters from the different department comprising students and its faculty. The guest speaker was Dr. Adrian V. Protacio, serving as the Chairperson of Sultan Kudarat State University Graduates School’s Master of Arts in Teaching Majoring in English Program.
The event started with a devotional and followed by the program proper. Afterwards, the parallel session was happened wherein students were asked to proceed in their desired classroom to listened each research presenter. After the first parallel session, attendees, presenters, faculty, and guest speaker had their lunch.
As the second parallel ended, all the students gathered back at the venue to listen to the closing key note of Dr. Protacio. He stressed the importance of Research and goes beyond our circle to reach out to the community and help address the needs of the people through research.
The said event was a success indeed. With the coordination and planning strategies spearheaded by the BSOA 4th year students and the supervision of Mrs. Mailyn D. Cabanlit. Students from every year level was satisfied and left the gymnasium with fulfillment in their faces. The knowledge they gained during the 1st Research Congress is something the students can apply in their future research endeavors. Truly God is amazing because He made this event possible.
