Dr. Balbinder Singh Gill is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Sustainability at the School of Business, Stevens Institute of Technology. 

His research focuses on climate finance, fintech, the political economy of finance, and real estate finance. Dr. Gill has authored five academic papers, four of which are solo-authored and published in leading finance journals. His work has been showcased at major conferences, including those of the American Economic Association, American Finance Association, and the Financial Management Association.

Dr. Gill is also a dedicated educator, having developed and taught courses on sustainable finance and renewable energy finance. In 2024, he received the prestigious university-wide Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising/Mentoring, recognizing his commitment to guiding students both academically and personally. The Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising honors a member of the Stevens faculty “who has guided students in their academic and career paths; fostered students' long-term personal development; challenged students to reflect, explore and grow as individuals; and supported and/or facilitated the students' goals and life choices.”

Outside academia, Dr. Gill enjoys playing soccer and makes time to run two miles a day, balancing his passion for teaching and research with personal well-being.
