My teaching philosophy is to combine rigorous finance with applied decision-making. I want students to understand the economic intuition behind a model, be able to implement the analysis, and know when its assumptions matter in practice. I use market data, cases, structured problem solving, and discussion to connect finance theory to managerial and investment decisions.
My approach varies with the student population and the role of the course. In required courses, I place greater emphasis on building a common analytical foundation and making finance accessible to students with different levels of preparation. In advanced electives, I place more weight on integration, valuation, market judgment, and open-ended applications in which students must defend assumptions and recommendations.
