Dream Crazier BSA Troop 310G Torrance
Here's a tatse of what our troop does throughout the year. For more information, please contact bsat310g@gmail.com
Long Term
Each year, the troop spends approximately a week on a "long term" hiking/high adventure.
In 2024, we ventured to Bridgeport and the high sierras to Crown Point Loop for a 5 day hike!
In 2023, we headed to Maui for a week camping at Olowalu.
In 2022, the inaugural long term was up in Mammoth.
Another annual event for T310G, the scouts and parents hit the rock at Joshua Tree to camp and climb.
Invitational Field Day
Southern California Asian-American based scouting troops meet and compete in scout skills competitions. Troops take turns hosting this annual event, usually held in October.
T310G is building scouts and hiking parents stamina and skills over each year in order to achieve a long term hike sometime in the year.
To do so, the troop trains with
walking, running programs
2 low-altitude hikes and
2 high-altitude hikes
These hiking activities ensure the safety and capability of the troop.
310G's Family Camp provides a chance for families to camp, get to know each other and see our scouts in action. Usually held at the beginning of the year, we camp at different sites throughout the SoCal area.
"A week of camp life is worth six months of theoretical teaching in the meeting room." - Lord Robert Baden Powell
T310G Celebrates Scouts and our charter organization, Faith United Methodist Church, every February
Together with our brother troop, Troop 719, we host an annual pancake breakfast at the Gardena Valley JCI. This year's event will be on April 13th, 2025.
2025 Pancake Breakfast
310G scouts work with their brother Troop 719 to help prepare and cook Thanksgiving feasts for families in need. With the ministries we find families from Faith United Methodist or Gardena Valley Baptist.
Held the first Tuesday in December, each T310G scout shops at Target and purchases at least $20 worth of toys to donate to the Toy Drive, Toys 4 Tots. With a drop off at a local fire house.
Held one Saturday a month, Faith United Methodist Church, Torrance participates in an outreach program made possible by a grant from Keiro, which provides bentos and a friendly face to the elderly congregation.
Faith United Methodist Church's Master's Kitchen prepares and provides meals to it's neighbors in need. Scouts and their families have an opportunity to help prepare and distribute these meals to assist with FUMC's outreach program.
