I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Previously, I was a postdoctoral scholar in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where I was hosted by Prof. Munther Dahleh. Before that, I spent five wonderful years pursuing PhD at Texas A&M University, where I was incredibly lucky to be advised by Prof. P. R. Kumar. I obtained my master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2014, where I was advised by Profs. David Koilpillai and Kiran Kuchi.
In the summer of 2015, I interned at Intel Labs, Santa Clara, California, where I worked on interference cancellation algorithms for wireless networks. In the summer of 2017, I interned at National Instruments, Austin, Texas, where I worked on medium access control for millimeter-wave WLANs.
My research interests are quite broad and span the areas of Security, Cyber-Physical Systems, Electricity markets, Power systems, Game theory, Mechanism design, Communications, Control, Renewable energy, etc. Please refer to my research page and publications for more details on some of the work that I've been doing in some of these areas. You can find my DBLP page here and my Google Scholar page here.
Note to prospective students: There is always room for talent in my research group. If you are already a student/postdoc at IIT Madras and are interested in working with me, please send me an email. Otherwise, please apply to the graduate program of the Electrical Engineering department and mention EE7 (Control and Optimization) as your preferred area of specialization. You may then write to me attaching your CV, describing why you are interested in working with me, and mentioning your application details. Like many others, I receive tons of emails from prospective students and it is impossible to respond to every one of them, but rest assured that I read all emails very carefully.
