A Scout is Clean . . . Look Your Best!
All Scouts should be in Uniform at every scouting event! The intent is for all members to both be in uniform, and be uniform as a group. Here is a link to Troop 315's uniform inspection checklist.
If Scouts are unsure which uniform they should wear for a particular event, ask the Senior Patrol Leader!
Class A Formal
This is for formal Scouting and community events, such as Boards of Review, Courts of Honor and Honoree Tributes.
It consists of:
Full Dress Shirt, with all proper insignia attached, neatly tucked in.
Troop (red) neckerchief and official slide.
Official Scout pants or shorts. No jeans, khakis, cargo pants, gym shorts, sweatpants or sporting uniforms.
Official Scout socks
Merit Badge Sash or OA sash over the right shoulder, depending on the function. Only one sash can be worn at a time, and OA sashes are for official OA events only.
Boots or rugged shoes. No athletic sneakers, open toed footwear, "Crocks," or sandals of any kind.
Class A Working
This is for less formal Scouting functions, such as our weekly troop meeting.
It consists of:
Full Dress Shirt, with all proper insignia attached, neatly tucked in.
Official Scout pants or shorts. Similar-colored Khaki pants or shorts may be substituted. No sweatpants, gym shorts, or sporting uniforms.
Boots, rugged shoes or sneakers. No open toed footwear, "Crocks," or sandals of any kind.
Neckerchief is optional, and any Scouting-related neckerchief and slide is acceptable
Class B Formal
This may be used for Scouting functions where uniform formal dress is required but a T-shirt is more appropriate due to weather, nature of the planned activity, or location requirements.
It consists of:
Troop Class B T-Shirt (entire troop wearing the exact same style of shirt)
Official Scout pants or shorts. No jeans, khakis, cargo pants, sweatpants, gym shorts, or sporting uniforms.
Official Scout socks
Boots or rugged shoes. No open toed footwear, "Crocks," or sandals of any kind.
Class B Working
This may be used for events where common group identification is required but no formal appearance is required. Examples may include community service/ service projects, troop excursions (hiking, bike ride, canoeing), etc.
It consists of:
Troop Class B T-Shirt (any troop shirt style is acceptable)
Pants or shorts appropriate for the activity.
Footwear appropriate for the activity
Note: All but the Class B T-Shirt can be purchased at the Scout Shop:
A Class B uniform shirt is a T-Shirt that the Troop designs and orders from time to time. The Troop 315 Committee obtains these through local apparel vendors.

The Class A shirts usually come with an American flag, but they also need:
Cradle of Liberty Council Patch
Our Troop Numbers - 315 (dark green stitching on khaki backing)
Epaulets (dark green)
A World Crest;
