This a list of unofficial guidelines that help keep us focused.
Electronics:
- Electronics have no place on a campout. Music players, games, phones, etc. will be taken by an adult till the end of the activity. Adults may carry a GPS, radio or phone for safety and communication purposes. Individual Scouts do not need these items.
- Electronic entertainment is allowed in vehicles when traveling to and from Scouting events.
Meals:
- On regular campouts, soda (carbonated, caffeinated, sweetened, etc. beverages) is not to be on the patrol menus.
- Donuts may be a component of a breakfast meal, but NOT the main item. Meals are supposed to be balanced and nutritious.
Uniform:
- Uniform will be specified for all events. Ask your Patrol Leader or Senior Patrol Leader if you have any doubts.
- When attending Troop meetings, Patrol Leadership Council (PLC) meetings or other Scout related events, a Scout should wear his uniform shirt, neckerchief and slide along with appropriate pants, jeans, slacks, zip-pants or shorts. Pants or shorts that are in very poor condition or are more appropriate for a sports event are not acceptable (ex. sweat pants and shiny basketball shorts).
- Shirts should be tucked in.
- When traveling, the official Troop uniform should be worn. When participating in a conservation project, athletic activity, or other 'messy' activity, a Troop T-shirt, Venture T-shirt or high-adventure T-shirt is acceptable as a replacement for a standard uniform shirt.
Every Troop activity outside our regular meetings requires a permission form signed by a parent/guardian. There is a standard form used by the Troop (here) that can be downloaded and edited for distribution. It must include basic information such as location, start/end times/dates, cost, etc. Information required to participate in an event includes basic medical information, contact information, and signature. Do not worry! Forms needed will be clearly outlined at meetings before the event.
