Frequently asked questions

Where is my artwork saved?

On your device, automatically. To keep a copy elsewhere, use Share to export PNG, JPEG, PDF or layered PSD, or save the image to Photos.

How do I undo and redo?

Tap the undo arrow, or tap with two fingers. Three fingers redo. You can change these in Gestures.

How do I pick a colour from the canvas?

Touch and hold on the canvas, or assign another gesture in Gestures.

How do I draw a perfect line or circle?

Turn on QuickShape, draw the shape and keep holding at the end of the stroke. It snaps into place, and you can keep dragging to adjust it.

Do I need an Apple Pencil?

No. On iPhone and iPad you can paint with your finger. On iPad, Apple Pencil adds pressure and tilt, and "Pencil only" lets you rest your hand on the screen.

Which 3D files can I paint on?

USDZ, USD, OBJ (with its .mtl and textures), SCN, DAE and more. Painted models export as USDZ for AR Quick Look.

I bought Brush Studio. How do I install it on another device?

Brush Studio is a one-time purchase. Sign in with the same Apple ID on your other iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, tap your profile → Purchased, and download it again at no charge. With Family Sharing turned on, members of your family group can download it too.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something isn't working, please email us first. We'd like to fix it.
