Biokineticist
Maxine is dedicated to giving her patients the most effective care, restoring and improving pre-injury condition, and preventing re-injury. Through careful and thorough evaluation of the patient's injury/area of concern, she designs a unique, patient-specific rehabilitation plan. Both acute and chronic pain & injuries can be treated with Biokinetic rehabilitation.
In addition to general orthopedic rehabilitation, Maxine has a special interest in sports injuries. She is proficient in sport-specific rehabilitation as well as sport-specific conditioning, injury prevention and performance maximisation.
Maxine uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) as an additional tool to stimulate activation of specific muscles. This can be used for joint-specific rehabilitation, general/sport-specific conditioning or insufficient firing of a particular muscle or muscle group. This technique aims to achieve one's goal more efficiently.
