Board Members 

Sofia is a senior student at UCLA studying Economics and Business. She grew up in France and Italy and moved to Los Angeles three years ago. She is a transfer student from Santa Monica College where she actively participated in organizations such as the Rotaract Business Club, the Economics Club and served as Vice Chair during student elections. She is passionate about helping people and helped tutor homeless kids through the SchoolOnWheels program, in addition to assisting her peers. Sofia has continuously worked at her part-time job throughout her education. Her engagements strengthened her leadership, time management, and communication skills and helped others exploit their potential through knowledge. Sofia’s favorite hobbies are traveling, tennis, fashion, music and she is passionate about finance and tech.

Juan is a senior student at UCLA studying Communications. He was born in Bogota, Colombia, but grew up in Florida and then eventually moved to California. Prior to immersing himself in his undergraduate studies, Juan spent over three years working in the Hospitality industry where he honed a variety of skills ranging from customer relations, leadership, and adaptability. His experience working in Hospitality is where his interest in pursuing a degree in Communications arose. In his studies, he has found an aptitude for public speaking and cultivating a collaborative environment. Juan is passionate about fostering creativity in every aspect of his life and bringing individuals together. Juan’s hobbies range from recording music, trying new food, snowboarding, and traveling. 

Winta is the Director of Events and Outreach and a senior majoring in Communications with a minor in Film. This past summer, Winta interned at LA Magazine, gaining valuable insights into the importance and excitement of events and outreach on a larger scale. Currently, she is a social media intern at the clothing brand, Bleuet. As a film fanatic, Winta enjoys watching new releases in theaters and has a passion for film photography, often capturing moments with friends.

As the Director of Outreach for Bruinmates, Winta is enthusiastic about leading this role and connecting members to a wider network of people and resources to deepen their understanding of various fields.

Om is the Director of Communications for BruinMates and a fourth-year psychobiology major at UCLA, where he has spent all four years of his undergraduate education. After graduating, Om plans to attend medical school with a strong interest in dermatology. To prepare for this path, he has volunteered at hospitals such as Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and a local hospital, as well as interned as a medical assistant at a family physician’s office for two summers. Currently, Om is an undergraduate clinical research assistant in the Radiology Department at UCLA Health, where he has participated in conferences and submitted abstracts focused on kidney and liver tumors. These experiences have provided him with extensive exposure to the healthcare field and its diverse roles, including doctors, nurses, physician assistants, and healthcare administrators.

On a personal note, Om has traveled to over 15 countries in Europe, with Greece standing out as his favorite destination due to its rich history, captivating Greek mythology (a passion sparked by Percy Jackson), stunning Aegean islands, pristine beaches, and delicious cuisine.

Sophie is the Director of Social Media and a senior at UCLA majoring in Communications. She transferred from Irvine Valley College during her second year. This past summer, Sophie studied abroad in Italy, where she traveled and made new friends through her program. She also visited Paris, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Sophie enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, and warm weather. She is excited to help students connect and expand their networks through her role with Bruinmates.
