The beginnings of BDES were very bland, as one can imagine. The site was originally made as a competitor of sorts to The Burrito Edition, Plastic Potato, and other unblocked websites. This was mainly because B.D. joined the Burrito Edition discord, and saw that the developers of the site were... selfish, to say the least. Bruggy Dee vowed to make sure that everything that you see here is publicly available, and if you wanted to make your own "BDES but better", you could! On top of this, the developers were also slacking on suggestions, so Bruggy decided that suggestions take priority over even major updates.
Of course, figuring things out by himself was a rather grueling process, as Bruggy wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Eventually... he gave up. He just couldn't figure out how to make retro embeds. So he resorted to crappy style embeds that just straight up embed the ENITRE game into one page. This ate up the school craptop's memory, so he set out to find a better method.

When there is a will, there is a way. And Bruggy found the way. On February 12, 2024, Bruggy Dee discovered what he did wrong and got one of his favorite games on the site: Metroid: Zero Mission.

After figuring out retro embeds, B. Dee started adding and adding and adding. And the rest is history that's not really important. Until, that is, September of 2024, when we officially started advertising and making a name for ourselves. We're even a Free For All link on Vimm's lair!
It's unbelievable. The dinky little website that I had originally made to pass time in school is now officially much, much more than that. We went from having 3 functional retro games to hundreds. At this point, if you can't find something to play on BDES, you just ain't lookin'.
One full year, filled with ups and downs. I love you all and hope you can keep giving me suggestions. Thank you.
