Wavon's Special - "Oh- That Ain't Good..."
As you know, BDES is meant to be free for all, quick and easy. But that means that we are VERY limited in options for hosting totally not dubiously legally obtained ROMs. But, unfortunately, our glitch project which goes around the 25mb limit github imposes is going down. This is very bad, as that means that a decently sized portion of ROMs BDES hosts are, soon enough, not going to be available. We are NOT giving up, however. I promise that we will come up with something. In the meantime, suggestions for PSX, DS, N64, and any other ROMs that are larger than 25 megabytes will have to be canned until a new free file hosting site is found. As for the ones we have, we should be good through 2026. On the bright side, even without our large files, im pretty sure we host more ROMs than the lazy bums at Nintendo could ever hope to.
Bruggy Dee Epic Site - 9/6/25
Hey everyone! We thought it was time to sit down and share the story of how this whole thing started, how far we’ve come in the past two years, and what might be next. When we launched BDES, it wasn’t flashy. Honestly, it was kind of bland. The site came about because we were frustrated with how other unblocked sites (The Burrito Edition, Plastic Potato, etc.) were being run. Suggestions were ignored, updates were slow, and everything felt closed off. So we made a promise:
Keep everything public.
Put suggestions before big updates.
The problem? We didn’t really know what we were doing yet. Games loaded in clunky, Chromebook-melting ways. There were times we thought about quitting. Then, on February 12, 2024, we had our breakthrough: retro embeds. The first big win was Metroid: Zero Mission, and from that moment on, things snowballed. Game after game got added until BDES wasn’t just “that little site” anymore — it became a full-on library. By September 2024, BDES had grown bigger than we expected. We started getting recognition outside MHS, and even landed a Free For All link on Vimm’s Lair. That was huge for us. We went from 3 working games to hundreds. Suddenly, if you couldn’t find something to play on BDES… you just weren’t looking. So Where Do Things Stand Now? Fast-forward to 2025: we’ve slowed down. Between school and life, updates aren’t dropping the way they used to. We don’t know yet if BDES will make a massive comeback or just stay where it’s at. What we do know is that we’re proud of what we built and thankful for everyone who’s been part of the ride. Now for a Note on the Past, We want to thank Apollo and all the other creators who helped inspire us, and we’re sorry. The past had its conflicts, but we’ve learned from them. We want to move forward with respect and collaboration, not competition. Mascoutah has had some highlights While BDES has been on its journey, MHS has had its fair share of big stories too:
MSD19 vs. Safety: Remember the winter storm fiasco? Other schools canceled, but Mascoutah stayed open and even suggested students walk on the road if sidewalks were icy. Parents went off, comments got shut down, and students turned it into memes faster than you could say “snow day.”
Cold Coffee Controversy: Prices for iced coffee jumped from $2 to $3 while hot drinks stayed at $2. Students are still joking about switching to Red Bull because it’s cheaper.
ACT Practice Headaches: The practice test had everyone scratching their heads with random logic questions about red wagons. Not exactly what we’ve been preparing for.
E-Sports Debut : For the first time ever, MHS launched an official E-Sports program with Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Rocket League, Madden, and FIFA.
So what are our final thoughts? Whether or not BDES comes roaring back, we’re proud of what these last two years have been. From clunky beginnings to hundreds of games, from inside jokes to community support — it’s been unforgettable. Thanks again to everyone who played, suggested, memed, and supported us along the way. And a special thanks to everyone who made this possible.
