About Me:

A little about me...

I have been a teacher in Coquitlam for 6 years and I am so grateful to be at Como Lake. I love all of the opportunities that are available at middle school and think it's an important time for our students to develop their identity. We offer so many fun things for students to try including our exploration classes, genius hour activities, STEAM classes, ski and snowboard program and camping. I look forward to creating a safe and fun space for us to all learn and socialize!  

I grew up down by the ocean in the South Delta community of Tsawwassen and I love spending time outdoors. On a sunny day you'll find me at the beach, on the golf course, at the basketball courts or manning the BBQ! In the winter time I like to keep it Canadian by snowboarding on Mt. Seymour and curling at my local rink. Before I switched to homeroom, I was the Music teacher at Como Lake for 3 years and I still play music with my friends once a week. I love playing guitar, but also bass guitar, ukulele and keeping an easy beat on the drums. I'm currently playing in a band with some friends, covering songs we listened to when we grew up!

I will always be a West Coast person and have lived my whole life in the Lower Mainland. I went to UBC twice, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography in 2015 and Bachelor of Education in 2020. Although I'll never move away from here, I love travelling and have explored many countries including: Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, England, France and Belgium. I think it's amazing that we have such a diverse group of students at our school that we can learn so much from!
