The 3D Form and Matter Scanner allows students to scan items, adjust them (math component) and 3d print copies of the item. This scanner can be used across multiple classrooms and disciplines.
A table was purchased for our food service workers to provide a stable place for condiments at lunch.

Two classrooms were awarded grants for new rugs since theirs were old and/or too small for their class size.

Funded a chair rack for the folding chairs in the music room. The room is small and the folding chairs are stacked against the cabinets. This makes the cabinets hard to use, and the chairs fall down, even when students are not near them. The chair rack allows for safe storage.
This grant also funded piano tuning and maintenance. Regular maintenance vastly extends the life of a piano.
Purchased replacement seat sacks (storage for chairs) for teachers that needed them. Only purchased to replace those that were worn out or to create complete class sets.
When children are using mini objects to work on speech and language goals, they are often viewing the activity as play! When children are playing, their attention improves. When their attention improves, their ability to process and learn new information also improves. The use of these miniature 3d objects provides tactile information that 2d flashcards do not. Providing the child with this multi-sensory input activates larger areas of the brain which improves the brain’s ability to establish and repair neural pathways (which is the purpose of therapy).
This micro-grant provided additional funding for the decorations for talent show--to help transform the stage & performance into something "fun/magical" for the kids & those watching the performance. Skills to be improved for students = more confidence & grit, working together with a group to put on a performance, etc. This was a one-time grant that allowed the committee to use the funding this year while setting up a fundraiser to fund future years of the variety show.
After a few years of borrowing a 3D printer from the RESA that is not too finicky and loud this printer has great reviews for high volume use and self maintaining features such as self leveling. We have a large number of students interested in Tech Team this year and I want to give them an opportunity that is amazing and that the whole school might be able to benefit from at the end of the year. I cannot promise as this would be a pilot project, but I would like the students to create a mini golf course for the school picnic.
