What is Genes in Disease and Symptoms (GIDAS)?
GIDAS is a brand-new club at Brookwood that strives to educate students on the implications of modern genomics and personalized medicine. We will explore computational biology to gain a deeper understanding on how genes and diseases are intricately connected. Throughout the course of the year, GIDAS members will learn to research specific genes and their potential effects on the body using various online tools and data sets, as well as essential biology concepts. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to conduct college-level research and attend conferences where we speak about our disease of choice!
