Residents
All I.D Cards will be checked each visit to the pool. All residents and guests must be registered in the sign-in book.
Each adult resident will be provided with an I.D. card. No one will be admitted to the pool area without the I.D. card. Adults possessing an I.D. card may bring up to 6 family members or non-resident guests to the pool.
Residents between the ages of 9 and 15 with the ability to pass a swimming competency test will be issued an I.D. card. Guests may not accompany residents 15 years and under.
Babysitters 16 years of age or older may accompany the children of Brookside residents for the pool provided the caregivers pre-registers the babysitter with the pool staff. Employers of the babysitter assume full responsibility for the actions of the babysitter, and must inform the babysitter of all pool rules.
Residents ages 16-18 are allowed two (2) guests
If residents between ages 16-18 are bringing non-swimming children to the pool, there will be a limit of (2) to ensure ample opportunity for safe, direct supervision of non-swimmers.
Guests
Adults possessing an I.D. card may bring family members and non-resident guests to the pools. Residents may not sign in other residents as guests unless the guest is under age 16.
Each household will be limited to 6 guests on any one day.
Residents 15 years and younger may not bring guests.
No guest shall be permitted without their host present during the entire visit. Do not send guests to the pool with your I.D. card.
All residents must be present at the pool the entire time their guests are using the pool facilities.
All residents must sign a pool registration book. All guests of residents must be signed in by the resident. Information should be complete and legible.
Residents may pre-register guests with the pool staff in anticipation that the host will not be present. An example of this might be members taking a vacation and having their parents stay at their home. These guests will be able to use the pool if pre-registered. Passes will be issued, but will remain with the pool staff. Guests should report to the pool staff upon arrival.
Other examples for pre-registering a guest include: housesitters, grandparents, or babysitters. Any other situations must be reviewed by the pool manager for approval.
All residents must make their guests aware of all Brookside pool rules and make sure their guests follow all the rules for their safety.
All residents must notify pool staff that they have guests under the age of 16. All guests under the age of 16 must take a GUEST SWIMMING COMPETENCY TEST (one per season).
No homeowner whose privileges have been suspended for any reason may be the guest of another homeowner or resident.
All residents may not sign in with other Brookside residents unless that resident is a child who needs supervision at the pool. In this case, the adult must assume responsibility for the person they sign in. They must be present the entire time that person is using the pool facility.
No Brookside resident may sign in any person, adult, or child, whose household is in arrears. Both parties will be subject to loss of their pool privileges for the season.
General Information
No children over 6 years of age may use the baby pools. All children in the baby pools must be under direct supervision of an adult, even when using flotation devices.
Caregivers must be in direct control of their non-swimming children at all times, in or out of the water. All non-swimmers must stay in shallow water. Water wings or arm flotation devices are strongly recommended for non-swimmers.
No cutoffs or disposable diapers will be allowed in the pools. Cutoffs unravel and disposable diapers disintegrate. Both clog the filter system. Swim diapers are the allowed diapers.
No glass containers of any kind are permitted in the pool or surrounding areas.
Food should be kept in the picnic areas. Any trash must be picked up.
Pets are not allowed in pool areas at any time.
Absolutely no running, pushing, or general horseplay will be tolerated in or around pools. Offenders may be asked to leave the pool. Serious offenses may result in loss of pool privileges.
It is suggested that prior to entering the pool, individuals rub off any excess sun lotion or grease that might be on their bodies to help keep the water clean, please wait 15 minutes after applying sun lotion before entering the pool. Please help extend the life of our chairs, loungers by sitting on a towel.
Residents must register with the Clubhouse and the pool manager when planning a pool party. Do not assume if you have the clubhouse, you have the use of the pool.
In consideration of other residents, if you are planning a pool party, and plan on using the pool, please advise the pool manager. If the pool manager is aware of the party in advance, residents may be allowed to use the Clubhouse pool. The day of the week depends on the availability.
Additional information may be posted at the pools. All residents and guests are responsible for knowing and following all pool rules.
Your Pool Staff
The Pool Manager and lifeguards are the final authority.
The Pool Staff shall refuse admission to anyone with a skin infection or suspected of being intoxicated.
The pools will close at the discretion of the Pool Manager during inclement weather such as cold air temperatures or lightning storms.
Three (3) blasts on the lifeguard’s whistle signals an emergency. Clear the pool immediately! Immediate compliance is mandatory
Please obey the pool staff in all matters. Individuals who refuse to comply will lose pool privileges for the remainder of the season. If you disagree with the manager’s or lifeguard’s directive, submit your disagreement in writing to the board of trustees.
Please note: all persons using the pool facilities do so at their own risk. Brookside Square will not be responsible for accidents or injury in connection with such use nor shall they be responsible for loss or damage to personal property.
Please help to make every pool visit safe and enjoyable for all by: 1) knowing and, 2) following all pool rules, and acting in a responsible and courteous manner at all times.
Our lifeguards are not personal babysitters. They have a job to do by protecting not only you and your family but all who are using the pool at the time. Please feel free to ask the lifeguards for assistance when needed and appropriate, they are more than willing to help in any situation (either moving an umbrella or chair or clarifying any rules or questions you have.) Please keep conversation with lifeguards who are on the stand short (we don’t want to distract them from any potential dangers) --contact a lifeguard who is working at the table rather than the guard stand when possible.
Join us in making the summer pool experience at Brookside Square safe and enjoyable for everyone
