COMMITTEE ATTENDANCE
Delegates are expected to remain in their assigned committees for both Committee Session I, II, and III. While delegates may leave committee rooms for a short period when necessary, they are not permitted to leave the school building without permission from their Advisors and BLSMUN Staff. Delegates may leave the building during lunch hours but are expected to follow all safety protocols.
DRESS CODE
Delegates should be dressed in western business attire, however, we are flexible with the dress code for crisis committees, as we encourage you to come dressed up as your character.
WORK OUTSIDE OF COMMITTEE AND PRE-WRITTEN DOCUMENTS
Pre-written materials, including but not limited to complete working papers, operative or preambulatory clauses, notes, and directives, are strictly prohibited.
However, delegates are strongly encouraged to conduct research and prepare for speeches prior to the conference. Such preparation enriches both delegate confidence and the overall quality of debate without compromising fairness within committee.
*Delegates are not encouraged to work during lunch, please enjoy your break time and come back ready to work!
DECORUM
Delegates are expected to maintain proper decorum throughout the duration of the BLSMUN conference. Any delegate found engaging in disruptive, harassing, or abusive behavior, whether inside or outside of committee, will have their advisor notified and may be removed from the conference at the discretion of the Secretariat.
LOSS OF BELONGINGS
BLSMUN is not responsible for any lost or misplaced personal belongings. However, delegates who lose valuable items may seek assistance from their dais or other BLSMUN staff members in making announcements or searching committee areas. Any individual found stealing from another participant will have their advisor notified and may be removed from committee.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY
The use of electronic devices for research or writing purposes during committee is generally discouraged, however, use is at the discretion of the committee dias. You may bring your devices just in case.
ASSAULT, HARASSMENT, AND DISCRIMINATION
Any conference participant (including delegates, staff members, or dais members) found to have engaged in harassment, assault, or discrimination against another participant or school official/advisor will have their advisor notified and be immediately removed. Reports of misconduct, including harassment, assault, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, disability, or other protected characteristics, may be submitted through a note to the dais. Delegates who would prefer an alternative reporting method may also contact their advisor or BLSMUN Staff in person or via email.
