A recent resignation has created a vacancy in the Precinct 3 Town Meeting delegation. The remaining Precinct 3 town meeting members must select someone to fill the seat for the November 2026 Special Town Meeting, scheduled to begin Tuesday, November 17. If you are interested in being considered for the seat, please get in touch!

What does it involve? The new Town Meeting member will participate in the November 2026 Special Town Meeting. (Find the full schedule here: https://www.brooklinema.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/2589) They can then choose to run to fill out the remainder of the term (expiring in 2028) when the seat is placed on the ballot in next May’s annual town election.

How will the new member be selected? According to Town rules, the vacancy will be filled by a candidate selected by the remaining Town Meeting members. (The process is called being “caucused in.”) To serve, you must be a registered voter living in Precinct 3 (https://www.brooklinema.gov/720/Precincts-Polling-Locations). 

How do I apply? To be considered, please send a note to any current Precinct 3 Town Meeting Member (see list below), letting us know why you’re interested and describing related community and/or professional experience. You’re welcome to send a resume if you’d like. We will arrange a time for in-person interviews with interested candidates. Please be in touch on or before September 14.
