Annual (May) and Special (November) Town Meetings
Meeting in Brookline High School Auditorium at 7 pm for 2–8 nights, the Annual Town Meeting is when we consider and vote on the budget for the next fiscal year. This year (2026), TM met for three consecutive nights in May, following the successful vote for a $23 million operating override (over three years). Town Meeting also passed a major commercial development zoning package for Chestnut Hill. The Fall, Special Town Meeting meets in late November, also at 7 pm in the BHS Auditorium. Special Town Meeting is convened to consider and vote to resolve any outstanding budget issues, to consider zoning and other issues not brought in May, and to consider any citizen petitions/articles that have been filed for the Fall warrant.
See the Warrant for the current/most recent Town Meeting (The warrant = All articles on the agenda; these are the items your Town Meeting Members will vote on). NOTE: There is not yet a Warrant posted for the Fall of 2026.
