I’m running to continue in the seat I was caucused into last fall because I’d like to be part of the discussion about how Brookline develops over the coming years and decades. We have a fantastic town but we’re also facing some significant pressures. A thoughtful and holistic approach is needed if we’re to remain fantastic. The issues in which I’m most interested include: housing, commercial development, diversity and equity (Yes! I’m still for it!), transit and environment. To no one’s surprise, I believe these issues are intimately related and should be approached through that lens.
As Town Meeting Members we mostly address local issues. But we cannot forget the larger issues that our world faces, and which are reflected in town. We have a long way to go, for example, before we can think of Brookline as a place of real equity. We can address that, at least partially, in the decisions we make about how the town develops for the near term, and the long term. I’d like to be part of that.
Personal Bio: 16-year resident of Brookline on Brook Street. Father of two. Film-maker/Journalist. Small business owner. Former Town Meeting Member from the "old" Precinct 4, now Precinct 3.
