Question 1: What are the problems most often mentioned by your constituents or neighbors and how would you address them?
The town needs to implement a comprehensive plan for addressing growth and the transformative changes taking place. Affordable housing is disappearing and massive high rise buildings loom on the horizon. Miscellaneous piecemeal solutions are not working. Our neighborhood is heavily impacted. Boston and the Longwood Medical Area are world class destinations. We cannot change that, but we need to moderate the intensifying impact of development.
Question 2: Biographical data
I have been in Town Meeting since 1988. I grew up in Brookline, raised my family here, taught in the schools and at St. Anselm College. I am the co-founder of Boston Sculptors, have built public sculptures around the country, and in Israel, China and Peru, have works in more than forty museums, and am the author of Hammer and Tongs: Journal of an Artist and Sculptor.
