As a teacher-scholar, I strive to embody enthusiasm for learning by demonstrating the relevance of the class material and encouraging interactive problem-solving among students in ways that emphasize community building. I design classroom spaces that value all voices by listening attentively and designing activities that allow for different types of participation, encouraging students to be themselves, learning from one another while working collaboratively, and empowering students as scholars.
