Coach Diehl 1982-83 1988-94

In nine seasons at Bristol coach Diehl had a record of 107-91. He teams won 4 league titles, two sectional titles, 1 district title and a regional title. Coach Diehl was league coach of the year 4 times, Tribune coach of the year 4 times and Inland Northeast Ohio coach of the year once. He was also selected Division IV coach of the year, all Ohio, in 1994. He was also selected to coach the North South all-star game in 1995.

While at Howland coach has a record of 378-179. He has won 12 league titles, 13 sectional titles, and 4 District titles. His 2007 team lost in overtime in the regional finals. He also coached the 2008 North South game making him the only coach in Ohio to coach both boys and girls the North South all-star game. In the last 24 years Diehl has been league coach of the year 13 times, Tribune coach of the year 15 times, District I coach 4 times and North-East Inland coach 4 times. He has coached eight North South players, six first team all-state players, five Northeast Ohio MVP’s, ten Trumbull county player of the year, and 10 Division I Scholarship players.

With Bristol and Howland combined, coach Diehl is the winningest basketball coach in Trumbull County history.

Coach Diehl has been inducted into the Trumbull county Hall of Fame in 2015. He also became the first coach in Trumbull County to win the OHSBCA Sportsmanship, Integrity and Ethics award. He still resides in Gustavus with his wife Sharon.
