For the 2026–2027 school year, we’re excited to offer multiple parent-led LEGO clubs for different grade levels.

Sign-ups will open in late August and will be announced in our WhatsApp group, Bringhurst STEM Interest Community.

Students are required to have their own LEGO kit before joining the club. The clubs are unable to provide LEGO kits to individual club members.

LEGO Education discontinued sales of the SPIKE Prime and SPIKE Essential kits on June 30, 2026. However, the kits may still be available through third-party marketplaces and resellers while supplies last. Parents may check sources such as eBay or BrickLink for new or used kits. You may also check with families from previous LEGO clubs to see if they have a used SPIKE kit available for sale.

Overview of LEGO SPIKE Clubs

Joining the LEGO Spike Club provides an exciting opportunity for students to explore mechanisms, coding, and other STEM concepts through hands-on activities. As a parent-led initiative, it is important to emphasize that the club is not merely an "after-school drop-off" program. Active parental involvement is essential to ensure a meaningful and enriching experience for each child. Parents will be required to take turns assisting during club sessions.

Each week, students engage in structured lessons based on the LEGO SPIKE Education curriculum. These sessions focus on building models and coding, allowing students to develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork. Through guided instruction, they will construct various models using LEGO Spike Education kits and program them, reinforcing key STEM principles in a fun and interactive way.

Beyond technical skills, the club nurtures critical thinking and collaboration. Students work together to troubleshoot, experiment, and refine their designs, fostering perseverance and adaptability. This hands-on experience not only strengthens their confidence but also lays a solid foundation for future STEM learning.

Since parental participation is integral to the success of this club, parents are encouraged to assist during sessions, support with materials, and inspire their children to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom. Their involvement plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Club Curriculum

Club sessions will take place on campus every week throughout the school year. Each week, students will engage in hands-on building and coding activities based on lesson plans from LEGO Education.

Sr. LEGO Club will use SPIKE Prime Set ($400+tax)* and follow Unit Lessons of SPIKE Prime Set
Jr. LEGO and TK-G1 LEGO Club will use SPIKE Essential Set ($330+tax)* and follow Unit Lessons of SPIKE Essential Set

Students are required to bring a laptop or tablet to each session and purchase their own LEGO kit. Before buying the kit, please confirm your child's acceptance into the club. The clubs are unable to provide kits to the club members.

Please note: Owning a kit also allows students to continue practicing and working on exercises at home.

*Note: LEGO has discontinued the SPIKE Prime and SPIKE Essential sets, so these kits are no longer available for purchase directly from LEGO. Participants will need to purchase a kit from other sources, such as authorized retailers or the secondhand market. Please check availability and pricing carefully before purchasing. We recommend waiting until your child is accepted into the club before purchasing a kit.

Club Activities

Each weekly club session will last for at least 1 hour, giving students plenty of time to learn and collaborate. At the end of every session, we encourage students to present their projects and share what they've learned.
