This international webinar aims to foster meaningful academic exchange, share methodological insights, and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation in the fields of archaeology, heritage studies, and museology between scholars working in Southeast Asia and Europe. It presents current archaeological research and recent results from Southeast Asia—particularly Indonesia—to an international audience, while promoting comparative exchange on archaeological practice, heritage legislation, and community engagement in both regions. By encouraging reflection on diverse professional approaches and experiences, the event seeks to build mutual understanding, promote new partnerships and networks among researchers and institutions, and contribute to global archaeological discourse through collaborative learning.
The webinar will feature speakers from Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond, delivering 20-minute presentations followed by short discussions.

Day 1 – Intertwined Crossroads: Recent Research and Findings in Southeast Asian Archaeology
This session explores the historical and cultural complexity of Southeast Asia as a dynamic hub of interactions, emphasizing themes of interconnectedness, diversity, and regional integration. It highlights recent discoveries, theoretical advancements, and interdisciplinary approaches in Southeast Asian —predominantly Indonesian—archaeology.
Scholars are present ongoing research in areas such as:

II. Maritime Archaeology
III. Ancient Trade Networks
Day 2 – Bridging Continents: Archaeological Practice in Southeast Asia and Europe
This session focuses on the professional, legal, and social dimensions of archaeological practice in both Southeast Asia and Europe. It aims to encourage dialogue, exchange, and mutual learning while strengthening professional and methodological ties. Presentations will address comparative experiences and innovations in fieldwork, site management, heritage protection, and community engagement.

III. Museums and Public Archaeology
A conference proceedings volume is planned for publication in late 2026.
