We want to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to John Beck for the excellent job he did with planning and directing our 2025 "FALL BYSUP OUT N' ABOUT" Trek. It was a fantastic day with a wonderful group of chapter members and guests. Again, thank you, John, for a fantastic experience.
On October 16th, 2025, about forty chapter members and guests boarded a bus in Provo and headed south on Interstate I-15. During the journey, our knowledgeable tour leader, John Beck, provided the group with historical and current information about the communities we passed through, including Rocky Ridge, Mona, Nephi, and others. The first stop was at the Pioneer Cemetery in Scipio, where we visited the grave of Artemus Millet, who oversaw the construction of the Kirtland Temple. Continuing south, we reached the LDS Tabernacle in Richfield. Here, we ate lunch while Dennis Larsen, a long-time Richfield resident and local SUP leader, shared information about the area's history. Moving into the main chapel, Sherrie Johnson spoke about her great-grandfather, Robert Dixon Young. At one time, he served as Stake President and President of the Manti Temple simultaneously. She provided additional historical information. Afterward, we traveled through Fremont Indian State Park, with its beautiful rock formations and fall colors, to Cove Fort, where we enjoyed an informative movie and tour. On our way back to Provo, we passed through Kanosh and Meadow, where we learned more about Chief Kanosh and the area. The trek was immensely enjoyed by all who attended.
