Bridge to China at ABC

This January, I volunteered at ABC, Association to Benefit Children, where I taught the children there my lesson plan about colors. The children were very engaged and really enjoyed writing the characters. I taught them every color of the rainbow, black, and white in Chinese. They were all able to follow the stroke orders, write all of the characters well, and were able to pronounce all of the colors by the end of the lesson. Additionally, the children there really enjoyed asking me how to say words in Chinese such as dumplings 饺子, ice cream 冰淇凌 , thank you 谢谢, hello 你好, goodbye 你好, my name is 我叫, and I like 我喜欢. Overall, teaching at ABC was such an amazing opportunity and I hope to return soon!
