Most schools use Blackboard as means for the professors to communicate information to their students. Professors will post announcements on Blackboard and it's your responsibility to constantly check the site. They will also post homework assignments there as well. Most of the thing you will need for a class will be on Blackboard. Some classes will use additional sites to supplement their workload, so be aware of that. You might also use Blackboard to take tests. Most professors use Blackboard as a means for students to submit their work and view their grades. Become familiar with it!!
Some schools also transition from Blackboard to Brightspace. It has the same feautures as Blackboard does, except the format or the design of the website will be slightly different. Please be sure to check Brightspace every day if this is the platform your school is using, mising a post from your professor can mean missing an important deadline.

This is where you register for classes, view your financial aids, check your grade, update your personal information, and pay your bill.

Global Search is a tool that allows you to search for classes across all CUNY colleges in one place. Global Search lets you see course availbility, schedules, professors, seats availability, course requirments across the entire CUNY system all at once.
Note that Global Search does not automatically generate schedule based on your selection like Schedule Builder would.
Global Search is helpful when:
a class you need is unavailable at your home college
you want to take a class at a different CUNY campus that works better for your commute
Global Search sometimes shows the class availabililty a few days before Schedule Builder do.
Degree Works is a site that allows students to view up-to-date information about a student’s progress towards graduation. The student can see which major, minor, specialization, and general education requirements have to be fulfilled and which ones have already been completed. You will also be able to see AP and transfer credits. Degree Works is the site you use to see how many credits you have and for which classes and categories.
Your school probably has helpful apps that you can download on your phone to help you navigate during college. For example, some apps for for events happening around campus while others are to track when a bus is going to arrive at a certain station. Research what apps your school has and download them and if you think they would be helpful.
