Hi, I'm Amber! I grew up in the Hudson Valley and moved to the Capital Region to be with my now husband in 2018. (So if you're getting married in the Hudson Valley, I'm always so excited because that area holds such a special place in my heart!)
Fun fact about me - doing bridal hair was not my first career! I worked in marketing for 5 years and was feeling unfulfilled. My mother always saw me styling my own hair and doing fun braids on my friends and told me I should turn it into a side hustle. Of course, I never listened. After I quit my marketing job on a whim, my hair stylist (and now good friend) suggested I help her out in her salon. After attending cosmetology school at age 28, my new career blossomed and I fell in love with doing bridal hair.
Five things about me:
I was a figure skater from age 5 to 19. I had to quit when I went away to college because there wasn't a rink there. I still have dreams where I go back to the rink and I can nail a double sal chow!
Speaking of college, I have a degree in fashion merchandising. I originally wanted to work for a children's clothing brand!
My unpopular food opinions: I love pineapple on pizza, I think matcha is delicious (and doesn't taste like grass!), and my favorite cheese is blue cheese!
I had lots of pets growing up including guinea pigs, hamsters, a turtle, and a Canada goose (long story!)
When I'm not doing hair, I'm either gardening or reading a thriller book.
Today, I feel so lucky to have found a career that brings me so much joy and passion. Being a part of your wedding day is truly so special to me.
