Brick & City (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and how your data is protected when using the Brick & City Apps and any related websites or services.
Brick & City: Vault is a personal LEGO® collection tracker for iPhone and iPad.
Brick & City: Frames is a lightweight video app designed to capture short LEGO build moments and turn them into seamless, shareable videos.
Brick & City: Layout is a city-planning app for iPhone and iPad. It allows users to create brick-built city layouts using buildings, custom items, road plates, railway track and other infrastructure.
Layout projects are stored on the user’s device and synchronised privately through their Apple iCloud account when iCloud is available
The apps do not collect, sell, or share personal data with third parties.
All information you enter is securely stored on your own Apple iCloud account.
Set information (e.g. set numbers, names, notes, prices, purchase dates).
Optional data such as status (Owned, Wanted, Built) or personal notes.
Video recordings or photos
Layout project names and grid dimensions.
Buildings, road plates, railway track and other infrastructure placed within a project.
Item names, sizes, positions, rotations, colours and display preferences.
Optional photographs taken or selected for official sets or custom buildings.
This information is stored only on your device and synced privately to your iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit service. We cannot access it.
Photographs added to Brick & City: Layout are resized for project storage and private iCloud synchronisation. Brick & City cannot access projects or photographs stored within a user’s private CloudKit database.
Brick & City does not use external analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
Apple may collect anonymous diagnostic data if you’ve opted into iOS analytics — we do not receive or control this data.
Set data, images, and theme information are retrieved from the Rebrickable API.
This is read-only public data. When a request is made, the app contacts Rebrickable’s servers to fetch LEGO® set information.
No personal information about you is sent to Rebrickable.
Brick & City: Layout stores non-sensitive preferences on the device, including default grid size, snapping interval, baseplate guide settings and label preferences.
Downloaded public-set images can be removed through B&C: Layout ▸ Settings ▸ Storage and Sync ▸ Clear Downloaded Set Images. Clearing the image cache does not remove projects, layouts or custom photographs.
B&C: Layout may retrieve public official-set images from LEGO-hosted and BrickLink-hosted image services.
When an image is requested, the relevant provider may receive standard network information, such as the device’s IP address and the address of the requested image.
B&C: Layout does not send project contents, custom photographs, building names, notes or other user-created information to these image providers.
Public set images may be temporarily cached on the device to improve loading performance.
In Brick & City: Vault, if you choose to unlock Unlimited Sets, payment is processed securely through Apple’s App Store.
In Brick & City: Frames, if you choose to unlock Frames Pro, payment is processed securely through Apple’s App Store.
In Brick & City: Layout, if you choose to unlock City Build Expansion or Infrastructure Expansion, payment is processed securely through Apple’s App Store.
All Brick & City Apps also offer optional consumable tips to support future development. Tips do not unlock features and do not provide a physical item.
The app receives the purchase status required to confirm an expansion or tip, but Brick & City does not receive the user’s card or bank details. Brick & City does not collect or store any payment details — Apple handles all transactions, receipts, and refunds.
All user data is stored securely using Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Only you (via your Apple ID) can access your data.
Deleting the app or its iCloud data permanently removes your collection.
We do not operate any external servers or databases that contain user data.
Under GDPR (and similar privacy laws), you have the right to:
Access your data
Delete your data
Withdraw consent (e.g., delete the app or iCloud data)
Because all data resides in your iCloud account, you can manage it directly through your device’s Settings ▸ Apple ID ▸ iCloud ▸ Brick & City
In Brick & City: Layout, users can access and delete individual layouts through the Projects screen.
Downloaded public-set images can be removed through Settings ▸ Storage and Sync.
Camera and photo permissions can be withdrawn through the device’s Settings ▸ Privacy & Security controls.
Information held within a private iCloud account must be managed by the user through the app or their Apple iCloud settings. Brick & City cannot access or delete private CloudKit records on the user’s behalf.
Brick & City Apps are designed for general audiences but not targeted at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
The apps and website may contain links to external sites such as Rebrickable, LEGO, Bricklink, TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
If a user chooses to share an export through Apple’s share sheet, the selected person, app or service will receive that file. The exported file is then handled according to the recipient’s privacy practices.
Exports may contain custom photographs if those photographs are visible within the exported project.
B&C: Layout allows users to create and share PNG or PDF exports of their projects. Exports are generated on the device and are not automatically uploaded to Brick & City.
We may occasionally update this policy to reflect changes in our app or legal requirements.
The latest version will always be available on our website at brickandcity.co.uk/privacy.
