My Tiny Planet
1.What type of planet did you decide to create? Would you inhabit this planet? Tell us a little bit about it.
I decided to create an enchanted forest planet. I wouldn't inhabit this planet because there's a lot of things and creatures that can be found in an enchanted forest. There are giants, trolls, fairies, and possibly unknown creatures. On the planet there is a river, fairies, and a giant. It's a forest, so there are trees and grass or moss all over the planet with butterflies flying around and colored mushrooms.
2.Why did you decide to create this planet? What makes it personal and unique to your?
I decided to create this planet because I like how an enchanted forest can look like. Something that made it unique was that the giant doesn't look like it is a normal giant as in their personality. He is actually a nice and gentle giant. The river also is going around the planet, not just in one area.
3.Please explain what you found the most challenging out of this project. What could you have done to improve this?
I found it most challenging to find an image that the background remover could work with. To improve this, I could’ve copy and pasted the image, then use the stamp tool to get the section of the image I wanted to make use of.
Landmark Poster
1. Reflect on your experience using the pen tool in Illustrator to create your landmark poster. What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them?
Using the pen tool in illustrator was new and interesting. A challenge I encountered was doing the hands because I had to think about the shadows and it was difficult to get the outline as accurate as possible.
2. Consider the significance of the iconic landmarks you chose to include in your poster. How did you ensure that your representation accurately captured the essence and recognizability of each landmark?
I chose to use Christ of the Sacred Heart, a landmark in Rosarito. I ensured that my representation accurately captured the recognizability of the landmark by accurately tracing the outlines. I also used the eyedropper tool on the reference image to get the actual colors of the landmark.
3. Describe the creative decisions you made regarding composition, color choice, and typography in your poster design. How did these choices enhance the overall visual impact and convey the intended message or theme?
I chose where things will go by trying to not make the poster look too busy on just one area. I also used bright colors for the words because in Rosarito a lot of bright colors are seen. There are also large letters that spell out "Rosarito," which is why I chose the font and colors I used. "The fun in the sun destination" is the translation in English of a saying that came from an article about Rosarito. These choices made my poster more colorful and makes it look and feel more like the place.
4. Reflect on the process of translating a physical landmark into a digital artwork. What aspects of the landmark's architecture or cultural significance did you prioritize in your design, and how did you incorporate these elements effectively?
Turning a real place into a digital landmark was captivating. I prioritized the whole architecture of the landmark because it's what would make a viewer recognize the place, so it needed to be accurate. I did this by using the zoom and eyedropper tool. The colors and architecture are important things for recognizing an area.
5. Consider the role of digital art in contemporary communication and expression. How does your poster contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding these iconic landmarks, and what message or narrative does it convey to viewers?
My poster fits into the world of digital art today because it can be used to advertise Rosarito to people anywhere in the world. I think when viewers see the poster, they will realize that Christ in an important person in the culture. They will also notice that Rosarito is a place with beaches and sun for fun water activities.
Book Cover
Does the cover effectively capture the essence or central theme of the book?
The imagery shows what kind of things to expect in the story. The colors reflect on how dark the story is and the aggression throughout the story. The design does reflect on how it is in the story and the characters.
How does the cover appeal to the target audience or intended readership?
The design appeals to the target audience by giving an idea of what the story will be like based on the cover. For those especially who are interested in drama, by looking at the cover they will be interested to find out more about the story by reading it.
Is the cover visually engaging and aesthetically pleasing?
The cover is visually engaging because the color of the background has a darker meaning to it. There also isn’t too much negative or positive space on the cover, however the idea of the story is still displayed. The colors go with each other and don’t look like they don’t go together.
What Elements of Art did you use for your book cover? Pick one to talk about.
An element of art I used was color by using it as a symbol. I used red as the background because the story has drama which has to do with the tension between two groups. It shows the aggression and anger of the story. It also makes the other images and typography stand out, such as the title and the silhouette of the characters on the front cover. (Cover 3)
What principles of Design did you use in your book cover? Describe where you used them in your design. You only need to pick 1.
I used emphasis in my design mostly on the front cover. I did this by making the title’s font yellow and bigger in size to make the words stand out more than the other typography. The silhouette is also emphasized by the lighter background, which makes it more seen. The drop shadow I added also emphasizes it more because it’s not just a solid black figure because it adds an outline that makes it stand out. (Cover 3)
Logo
1.What final design did you end up with?
The letters look like the arial font, but bolded. The H has no design, but the B is connected to the right side of the H. The top half of the B includes a half flower design and in the middle of the bottom half there is a full flower.
2. Why did you decide upon this final design?
I decided on this design because I liked the simplicity of it and that there are flowers included in the design.
3. Is your logo design a good representation of your brand identity? Why or why not?
Yes because flowers are something I love and I like simple things, so the simplicity also adds to the representation of my brand identity.

Magazine Cover
1. What challenges or obstacles did you face while working on this project?
One of the challenges I faced was matching the background with the main image. I couldn't use the original image because it looked too stretched out when put on the cover.
2. How did you overcome these challenges, and what did you learn from them?
I overcame the challenge by choosing an image from the internet and using it as the background. To match the background with the main image I changed the warmth of the image, which is something I learned.
3. What inspired you to undertake this project? Were there any books, artworks, individuals, or events that influenced your direction?
My inspiration was my family, especially my mom. A lot was put into my 15th birthday party and my mom loves to see the pictures. I created this project because I felt it was something she would like to see.
4. Did you seek feedback during the development of your project? How did this influence the final outcome?
I got most feedback from family and friends. I showed them what I had and my ideas so they could give me their feedback. It is how I chose my image and the placement of words.
5. Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently in your project? Why or why not?
Something I would have done differently was find another image from my photo shoot that had the same background as the image I chose. I say this because it would've better matched the lighting of the main image since it was the same.
