Step By Step Drawing
This is a drawing of Snoopy walking away from the store after buying an ice cream cone.Â
I used mostly curved lines, like for the clouds. I also used organic shapes to draw Snoopy. Movement was also used in my coloring. You can see which way Snoopy is walking, by the direction of the color strokes.
Haunted Hallway
This is a drawing of a haunted/abandoned hospital room.
I used the color red for the blood. The emphasis in my work is the body laying in the center of the room. The green shirt shows a pattern of curved lines.
This is a drawing of my design for the TADA T-Shirt contest. I wanted a symbol that wasn't too much. I decided on this design because it represents what skills you will learn while in this academy and it's simple. I combined digital arts and painting/coloring by drawing a laptop with a paint bucket on the screen.
I used a blue color for the laptop's screen. I also used curved and straight lines for an open laptop. Rhythm was used on the laptop's keyboard. The keys are a square shape with rounded corners. There is contrast because of the white keys on the keyboard and the black colored laptop.

I chose to do the meaningful word on the dictionary page. I decided to use the word "butterfly" because I like butterflies. I wanted to do something that includes different types of the species due to the fact that many people usually only know of the Monarch butterfly. So I searched on the internet and picked 8 different butterflies; Viceroy, Monarch, Cloudless Sulfur, Common Ringlet, Sleepy Orange, Tiger Mimic Queen, Eastern Tailed-Blue, and Zebra Heliconian. I made a sketch, placing the butterflies in a random order. I also added a brown dog with a butterfly on its nose, which has half blue half green wings on the bottom left corner of the page. I wrote the word "butterfly" in cursive with a simple side view of a butterfly outline beside it to further emphasize "butterfly."
A portrait is a portrayal of a person, usually only showing the face or the head and shoulders. For this grid drawing, I drew a portrait of Selena Quintanilla. I chose her because I've grown up with my family talking about her and I just wanted to attempt to draw her. She is a late music artist and is known as the "Queen of Cumbia."
I used curved lines to draw the lips. I also used value mostly on the face, like on the left cheek. There is movement in the hair. You can see it starts from the top of the hair and it moves as one does when going down a slide. There is contrast between the black pupils in the eyes and the rest of the eyes that's white.
I chose to use an image of Jack Black because he is a popular actor and recently was the voice of Bowser in the new Mario Bros movie. I feel that the monochromatic color scheme came out best because the tints and shades of purple look nice next to each other. For the primary color scheme I used red, blue, and yellow. This scheme is my least favorite because I don't like how the hair blends in with the background. I used blue and purple, and green and red for complementary. For analogous I chose to use red, red orange, blue, and blue green.
There are mostly curved lines to show the facial features and wrinkles in the clothes. I used a variety of colors. I used tints and shades of purple for the clothes, skin, and hair for the monochromatic image. There is contrast where 2 images have a smooth shirt and the other 2 look more wrinkly. The arms and hands show movement. One hand goes upward and the other arm is moving toward the viewer.
Pokemon Card
I painted Lotad. The landscape is a grassy area surrounding a pond. It also includes sunflowers in the background. The pokemon, Lotad, is in the pond and outside of the water standing is Lombre, the pokemon Lotad evolves into.
I used a variety of blue colors for the pond water. There are tints and shades of blue. Texture is also used on the claws of Lombre that appear to be sharp. One principle of design I used is rythym. There are green lines repeated to make grass. The landscape is asymmetrical. An imbalance is seen with the clouds in the sky. They are all different shapes and different amounts on each side.
