IsoBank

IsoBank Fall Workshop 2021

Host: University of New Mexico - Oliver Shipley and Seth Newsome

Workshop Summary: IsoBank is live! Members of the stable isotope community can now upload and share data through the world’s first centralized stable isotope repository (www.isobank.org). Key to the long-term success of IsoBank is ensuring recurring uploads of data by the broader isotope community. The overarching goal of the Fall 2021 workshop is to increase the ingest of isotopic datasets into IsoBank. Prior to the workshop, participants will be provided the necessary materials to facilitate the efficient upload of their independent datasets. Members of the executive committee will facilitate data upload sessions organized by sub-committee. Finally, we will solicit feedback on the experiences with the data upload process in continued efforts to streamline data upload.

Note. This workshop is open to faculty, students, postdocs, and lab managers who may wish to upload and share data through IsoBank.

Duration: 3 hours

Required by participants: The workshop is undertaken entirely through a web browser and participants will require CSV editing software (e.g., Microsoft Excel or equivalent). Stable isotope datasets should meet all core metadata criteria to facilitate efficient upload to IsoBank during the workshop. Example templates that highlight core metadata fields required for upload will be provided prior to the workshop.
