[Updated 23 October 2025]

I am both a proud American and a proud South African.  My family respected immigration laws for me to move to the USA legally.  I had to give up my South African citizenship to become a citizen of the United States of America.  But I am pleased that the laws changed and that I am now a dual citizen (USA & RSA).
