1. What part of this assignment did you enjoy the most? Why did you enjoy it?
I enjoyed drawing on the face and legs on my burger and I enjoyed manually making the shadows and seeds.
2. What part of this assignment was the most challenging for you? Why was it challenging?
The most challenging part of this assignment was trying to figure out what button does what since I am not used to using photoshop.
3. What did you learn from this assignment?
I learned how to use some of the things on Photoshop.
Emoji Stickers
What is the unifying theme in your emojis/stickers?
The unifying theme in my stickers is that they all have cat ears and they are all from shows from Adult Swim.
How did you keep the style consistent within your artwork?
I kept the style in my artwork consistent since I used different shapes and lines used for the lineart, then for color I used some gradients and even blending to give it a colorful feel.
What was your inspiration for creating these emoji's?Â
My inspiration for creating these stickers is the show I got the characters from, Metalocalypse. I also drew in my friend.
My favorite emoji is the one with black, long hair, out of the three, because the lines have an equal amount of thick and thin and the colors really pop out. It is also my favorite because he is my favorite character.
How might these emojis be misinterpreted to someone else?
These stickers may be misinterpreted by someone else since not many people know about this show, so I'm assuming they'd think they're original characters or people that I know in real life.
The color harmony that I picked was a mix of warm and cool color schemes. (monochromatic, warm color scheme, cool color scheme, analogous, complementary...)
I think the colors work well because I used the red for the ribbon and the flowers in the woman's hair, and I didn't completely overuse the color blue, so I think the red color balances the whole thing out.
I think the patterns work well because they look similar, although there is one pattern that doesn't match the rest of the other patterns there is.
What I learned after completing this project was that it is important to make colors and patterns work together while drawing to enhance an art piece.
What I found the most challenging about this project was manually erasing the extra parts and trying to make a unique pattern and make it work.
I picked El Salvador since I am Salvadoran and my whole family is very traditional when it comes to El Salvador.
I would send this to my parents. They are very proud of being apart of El Salvador so I thought it would make them feel proud that I would visit their home.
I am satisfied with my design because it looks accurate to a real postcard from El Salvador. I think if I added a frame it would be better.
1. Animation is challenging. What did you find the most challenging part of this assignment?
The most challenging part of this assignment for me personally was being consistent with the lineart.
2. Are you happy with your results? Did you push yourself to create something awesome? How did you demonstrate that you tried your best? If you didn't try your best, why not?
I am happy with my results and I think this is the most I've ever done in animation. The animation was fluid enough so I thought I did a good job.
3. What part of your GIF are you the most proud of? Be descriptive.
The hair is the part I'm most proud of. It's fluid and it keeps it's shape.
4. Did you enjoy this assignment? Why or why not? Please explain.
I enjoyed this assignment a lot. I've always wanted to try animation and now that I had the right equipment to do it, I realized how hard it is and I basically tested myself to see if I had any sort of skill when it comes to animation. Turns out, I only have a little bit of skill. This is my most fluid, first animation.
5. If you had the chance to redo this assignment, what part of it would you change?
I would definitely change the body. It is way too stiff. I'd also add some sort of shading if I could but I don't think I'm skilled enough for that.
The animals I combined was a horse and a bighorn sheep.
I decided to combine these two animals specifically because they are both beautiful and they are my personal favorite animals.
I think I'll call this newly combined animal, "Shorshe" or "Bighorned- Shorpe"
I think it would survive in the real world since it is functional, it has protection, which is what it's horns are for and since horses have 360 vision, they are wary of their surroundings and watch out for predators.
Photo-manipulation is an important issue today to show people how easy it is to edit a photo to make it look real.
I was struggling with the pen in general since it was confusing on how to curve it specifically.
I made sure to add some shadows and lighting on the moai heads.
I think it keeps everything equally interesting and plain. I wanted to keep it mysterious like the island itself is.
I prioritized the moai heads specifically since that's the main point of Easter Island and what makes it so interesting, along with the clear skies and shadows.
I contributes to art in general and the message it is giving to the viewers of it is showing how there are shapes everywhere no matter what and that it is easy to capture the essence of a landscape.
What techniques did you use for each element of art represented? OR describe any challenges you faced with the assignment?
For line I made a simple plank and since wooden planks have lines, I used that to represent lines. For shape, I used the silhouette of the item I was given, which was a chest, surrounded by red lines surrounding it to give it a menacing feeling. To represent color, I drew riches a usual chest would have since gold itself is colorful and I added some skulls and a crown to show how the item I was given was deadly. For value, I tried giving the item I was given a menacing, spooky effect. Like there were shadows around it to show how deadly it can be. To represent texture, I drew wood and a tongue, which is slimy and the wood grainy. Lastly, to represent space, I used a mouth since there was space between the teeth.
1. What type of planet did you decide to create? Would you inhabit this planet? Tell us a little bit about it.
I decided to create a metal planet inspired by medieval torture. I would not inhabit this planet because everything is just metal and spikes. The planet itself is basically just a torture planet that lives off of torture, hence the torture devices and the candles to give it a medieval vibe.
2. Why did you decide to create this planet? What makes it personal and unique to you?
I decided to create this planet since medieval torture fascinated me and I also thought it was metal (pun intended). It's personal and unique to me since I also based the overall vibe of the planet from the music I listen to, metal.
3. Please explain what you found the most challenging out of this project. What could you have done to improve this? (Really think about this question, what resources or tools are at your disposal that you could of used/ SHOULD be using when you are stuck and don't know how to do something?)
What I found most challenging about this project is figuring out how I can make it stand out and make it unique. What I could have done to improve it is maybe add a few extra things around it, maybe a castle or some inhabitants.
