"The inspiration for this film stems from my personal experience of writing a letter to my mother. The old drafts, the messy handwriting, are examples of my frustration when thinking about what to write - especially when trying to come up with new ideas for a screenplay.
In addition, I was also inspired by the film ‘This Is John’ by Jay and Mark Duplass. It is an extremely low-budget short film that was shot on their parents’ video camera, and the blank tape they purchased to shoot the entire movie. This reignited the passion for low-budget filmmaking, which inspired a simple premise told dramatically of how a simple goal, such as writing a letter, turns into a frustrating struggle for Chris."
