OFFICER ELECTION FOR 2026-2027:
Welcome back everyone! SILA's leadership team has messages for you all!
OFFICER ELECTION FOR 2026-2027:
The STEM Impact & Leadership Alliance holds annual elections for officer positions in May. As per the SILA constitution, SILA officer applicants went under a two-phase selective process.
Phase I: BLIND BALLOTS
The STEM Impact & Leadership Alliance has a keen eye for talent and effort. SILA's first selective process involved applicants submitting Blind Resumes, where the President & Advisor went through each application to ensure no personally identifiable information was included. If approved, the applicants were put on the Blind SILA Ballot on this website, where members had the blind resumes with Candidate keys, respectively, to identify which resume is with which candidate without giving names or identities. Winners of the Blind Ballot were notified and moved onto the general ballot in phase II.
Phase II: GENERAL BALLOTS
Applicants, once approved during Phase I and selected to continue onto Phase II (General Ballots), are notified to create a short presentation (No slide limit, 2:50 Min time limit) or to give a speech (Reference Cards Approved, 2:50 Min time limit). Members were then directed to cast ballots during the meeting. Results were announced at the same meeting, but this is at the discretion of the leadership team.
Phase III: CERTIFICATION
SILA certified the winners into their new roles for the school year of 2026-2027 in late spring of the 2025-2026 school year. The winners of this selective process can be found here. Note that the presidential role was not elected but rather appointed by the outgoing president with approval from the current advisor.
We thank everyone who was involved and their willingness to get involved with SILA and its leadership team. Whether you made it or not, there will be new opportunities to come. We hope you run again, even if you are a new member this year.
Sincerely,
SILA Officer Board Joint Statement
