Mentoring
Brent offers limited mentoring opportunities to photographers nationwide. This instruction comes from 30 years of his personal experience and three generations of family history in the photography industry.
What is a Mentor?
More than anything else, MENTORING is a conversation about your business.
The same conversation we would have at a coffee shop if you asked me to evaluate your studio. This is an interactive conversation. I’m going to ask you questions and I want you to write down your answers
- yes, seriously.
What I have discovered over years of doing this, is that these are the questions people didn’t know to ask.
The questions you learn in retrospect. The really IMPORTANT things.
I’m going to ask you a lot of questions. Some are easy, some are more difficult. Some seem absolutely obvious - until you really start thinking about them.
Others seem impossible, but they get easier as we go.
Two things:
1 - When your brain starts to hurt, you can take a 10 minute break - but YOU HAVE TO COME BACK!
2 - You are not in this alone. If you get stumped, if you don’t understand, I’m here for you.
Why do you Mentor?
Because, helping you - helps me.
Because raising the state of the photography industry helps us all.
Bad Business hurts each of us individually and the industry as a whole, and many of us are guilty of running our businesses badly.
In the end, a Mentor, is a friend in the business. Some days, we all need a friend.
