Background and FAQ

Since 2002, life scientists at Constructor University (previously Jacobs University and IUB) and University of Bremen have met and talked about their work, sometimes on a larger and sometimes on a smaller scale. Many cooperations between research groups have resulted from these discussions. 

In 2015 and again in 2023 and 2024, there were day-long meetings with posters and talks, and we also started inviting colleagues from other universities in the North. In 2024, the third such meeting will take place. Of course, we dream of more cooperations and eventually of joint research grant applications. But for the moment, the meeting is all about neighborhood connections.

The meeting is organized by Sebastian Springer, Felix Jonas, Katrin Rosenthal, Anna Tevyashova and Saskia Zwilling at Constructor University. 

The meeting is at Constructor University, in the Conference Hall and the Campus Center Foyer. The posters are especially important. There will be many posters and a lot of discussion. We'll have two poster sessions and a beer hour after the meeting to continue discussions. In between the poster sessions, there will be talks of invited speakers. Many companies are also invited to present their products and services, and for networking. 

We'll invite all life sciences companies in the Bremen area that we are aware of to present themselves and/or to find out what we are doing. If you are, or have an industry contact, please let us know.
