PREPARING FOR A VIRTUAL CONSULTATION
A virtual lactation consultation works best if your partner or support person can join us on the Zoom with a separate camera. They can use their camera to show me a close up view of baby latching. That way, you can still see me and you don't have to worry that I can't see you and the baby.
If a support person is not available, you can set up your phone, tableT or laptop so that I can see you and the baby as closely as possible.
Ideally you will be breastfeeding wherever you normally feed the baby. Don't feel you have to sit in an office or dining chair unless you normally do that when you feed the baby.
Make sure your lighting is good. If there is a window behind you, it is helpful to draw the curtains and place a light facing you.
