The journey we take to well-being can be challenging at times and I am very grateful to be in a career to support people on theirs. Britany is a Certified Counsellor who works from a client-centred lens and wants to meet people where they are to take strides towards their goals.
Sometimes it can feel like out emotions are in control and bump us off our well-being path. In these moments it can be hard to know what to do to help ourselves feel better. In our time together, she talks about the nervous system, the fight/flight/freeze response, and things we can do to regulate.
Kristen is a social worker in St. John's who teaches social work at Memorial University, is working toward her PhD in social work, offers individual therapy at Power Counselling and Wellness, and operates her own small business, Social Worker in the Gray. Kristen will offer some interactive activities including daily journal prompts, a guided mindfulness exercise, and a short, skills based approach to managing anxiety.

Their talk focuses on eating disorders, body image, substance abuse and its subsequent stigma.
