Meet our founder Lena Li! She is currently a senior from Oak Brook, a western suburb of Chicago and an aspiring entrepreneur. After learning about a controversy in her high school to align her school's curriculum with an under-resourced high school in her district, she recognized that educational disparities were widespread in her county. Desiring to bridge the gap in educational opportunities, she combined her interests in social equity and business, creating Breaking Barriers in Business (BBB) to provide after school business education opportunities to minority and/or low-income middle and high school students in the western Chicago suburbs through discussion-based lessons and mock business events. Currently, BBB hosts meetings to students from Darien, Westmont, Willowbrook, Burr Ridge, Downers Grove, Oak Brook, and Hinsdale.
