At times of crisis, individuals and communities know best what their own needs are. With your help, we can ensure communities are engaged in emergency response, promote awareness of community needs and resources, and facilitate cooperation between communities, residents, and local authorities.
We support communities to build resilience through workshops, mentoring and resources for local people. Our advocates have played a crucial role in engaging local community groups, as well as successfully planning and delivering 30 workshops to hundreds of participants.
Do you live in Croydon, Southwark, Newham Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge or Waltham Forest? Join one of our workshops to learn and practice how you can, together with other community members and organisations, identify key concerns affecting your community and explore how community organisations can work together to create a plan of action.
Our community resilience advocates help to build and strengthen links between community groups, local authorities and emergency responders. Through helping to run community workshops, they play a key role in supporting local people to identify their strengths and abilities to respond to emergencies. In addition, they use their local knowledge and experience to test new ideas about how community groups can work together with statutory agencies during emergencies.
We are looking for community groups and residents who want to help build stronger communities. Invest a few hours a month and have your voice and experience contribute to decision-making! Get in touch with us below if you would like to know more.
